Douglas and Karen create all of their photographs with the intent of
portraying their subjects as naturally as possible. They feel that the
true artistry of the photographer lies in the selection of the subject and
the creative use of light, composition, color, form and texture, rather
than relying on visual gimmicks. In keeping with this, only traditional
darkroom techniques are utilized in the creation of their photographs.
