Douglas became a professional Nature
photographer over twenty-five years ago
after studying with Eliot Porter at the Maine Photographic Workshops. His
photographs have been published in books and on
posters as well as by the State of Delaware.
Douglas has led Nature photography
workshops at
the Absalom Jones Art Studio and also independently. His fine art prints
have been exhibited
in various galleries including the Delaware State Arts Council
and have
been acquired by numerous
private
collectors and corporations.
"To me, there is a spiritual connection
between Nature and the artist. I am intuitively aware of this every time I
am out in the field. Creating artistic compositions of Nature is a pure
joy for me. I hope that my photographic discoveries serve to increase the
public's awareness of the delicate, fragile beauty of
our natural world."
